Sylvia Scurr, Deacon,
I have been a member of Bradninch Baptist Church for over 30 years and seen the church through the ups and downs of life. When I first came to Bradninch I was involved with the Girls 'Brigade Company and took over as Captain in 1981, through this work we touched the lives of many girls in Bradninch. I have also been involved with the Sunday School and Youth Work. I became a Deacon about 16 years ago and feel privileged to serve the church in this way.
Doreen Mears, Deacon,
For over 20 years I was an Officer in the Girls Brigade at Bradninch Baptist Church, which was really enjoyable and I got to know many girls during that time. I was welcomed into membership of the Church in 1993, and was involved in ‘Young Church’ and other activities, a few years later I was elected as a Deacon. I have been secretary for six and a half years, pretty eventful times but I stood down as sec. at the last AGM although continuing as a Deacon for the present. I am married to Ken, and have two married daughters – Karen and Jeanette and one grandson Tim, who is at University. The membership of our Church is small at the moment, but a very close fellowship, and I am proud to be one of the Leaders.
